Magic Items

The following is a short list of some shipboard magic items found in the Frozen Seas campaign. They are equipped to a slot of a ship, e.g. the Forcastle, and occupy that slot unless replaced by another shipboard magic item.

Shipboard Weapon Magic Items

Flameshot Weapon
Projectiles fired from this weapon carry a stream of flame with them, setting enemy ships on fire.

A loud clap of thunder echoes on impact with shots fired from this weapon, disorienting the crew.

Shrapnel Weapon
Shots fired from this weapon shatter on impact, sending deadly shards into the crew of enemy ships

Splintershot Weapon
Projectiles fired from this explode out of the barrel, raining shards of metal on the enemy’s hull.

Shrieking Weapon
Shots from this weapon screech with a ghostly howl, striking the enemy captain with the spirit of fear.

Homing Weapon
This weapon hones in on an enemy ship, blessing your crew with deadly accuracy.

Stormstrike Weapon
This weapon charges it’s shots with the power of an ocean storm, blasting the enemy ship with lightning.

Hit: Weapon +5 lightning damage (
10 at level 20). This weapon gains a +5 to hit and to damage when targeting the masts and rigging of enemy ships.

Akadium Weapon
The primordial metal Akadium allows shots fired from this weapon to hit with the force of a hurricane.

Hit: Weapon +5 force damage (

Goragite Weapon
Reinforced by the primordial metal Goragite, this weapon grants good luck to the one who fires it.

Enhancement Bonus: attack rolls and damage rolls
Miss: Reroll the attack with a +2 power bonus. If the rerolled attack hits, the enemy ship gains a -2 to their next attack.

Suthinium Weapon
The steel of this cannon has been alloyed with deadly Suthinium, making it’s shots explode on impact.

Ship Attachments

Moon Cloth Sails
Invented for use in the Arnorian navy, these sails capture the magic of moonlight, allowing your ship to sail across the seas with the speed of the tides.
Level 15 Uncommon
Wondrous Item 25,000 gp
Slot: Masts and Rigging
Power (Daily): You can only use this power when the moon is visible at night. Using this power grants your ship a +4 bonus to sailing speed for 1d6 hours.

Wheel of Adventure
This wheel will guide it’s captain wherever the spirit of adventure brings it.
Level 10 Uncommon
Wondrous Item 5,000 gp
Slot: Aft Deck
Power (Daily): The wheel will turn itself toward the nearest source of adventure. This may be towards a lost treasure, enemy ship, a nearby storm, or an unexplored island. It’s the GM’s discretion what the wheel actually brings the crew to.

Figurehead of Storms
Mounted on the bow of a ship, this figurehead will guide the ship and its crew through dangerous storms.
Level 10 Uncommon
Wondrous Item 5,000 gp
Slot: Forecastle
Property: The ship this figurehead is mounted on will gain a +4 bonus to Fortitude when in a storm.

Istishite Plating
This silvery blue plating will propel a ship through water at breakneck speeds.
Level 15 Uncommon
Wondrous Item 25,000 gp
Slot: Lower Deck
Property: The ship gains a +2 bonus to speed when in combat.

Grummium Plating
Empowered by the earth primordial Grumbar, this black plating will deflect attacks with ease.
Level 15 Rare
Wondrous Item 25,000 gp
Slot: Main Deck
Property: The ship gains a +2 bonus to AC.
